The second look with this week’s STEAL involves a linen button-down, our white skirt, and espadrille sandals. Because we shot this look while having a little picnic, I decided to throw on a wide brim hat and sunnies to try to keep the sun off my face. This outfit is easy, affordable, and perfect for any occasion.
With the skirt being high-waisted, I took this baggy shirt and tied the bottom tails to bring the shirt hem up. This creates a great proportion to the outfit, but this shirt also looks fantastic worn untied with skinny jeans or shorts. I find myself wearing this shirt constantly as it’s incredibly comfortable, can be worn with slacks for a work-appropriate look, and is a lush, linen blend.
As mentioned before, the high waist of this skirt makes it an ultra-flattering item. Bringing the waist a bit higher than your natural waist line, this skirt elongates your legs. With this in mind, I ditched the heels and grabbed these white espadrilles. These sandals are a great alternative to the flip flops I find myself gravitating towards and gives your outfit a nice summer feel.
With nights staying pretty warm here in Napa, one of my favorite things to do is grab a bottle of wine and have a picnic in the park. My neighborhood and is full of small parks like this one and most are surrounded by vineyards. If you visit the valley, I highly recommend grabbing a bottle of wine, maybe some cheese and crackers, and finding a spot to spread out. Nothing is more serene and relaxing!
Outfit equation: sun hat + button down + mini skirt + espadrilles
