A beach day in Hawaii

February 2, 2017

Aloha!

We’re lucky enough to have snuck off to Hawaii for a week of some R & R! Packing for Hawaii is always really easy for me as I simply grab my bright, loose, ‘easy breezy’ dresses and a bunch of suits. Since our days usually consist of hitting the beach or pool during the day, and heading out to dinner at night, I packed more casual coverups/dresses to throw on top of suits and then a nicer dress or outfit for the evening.

We’re staying in Ka’anapali this year on Maui which has everything you could ask for: ocean views and beach access,  shopping in Whaler’s Village, snow cone shops (yes!) and amazing pools.

This Free People tunic is not only one of my favorite colors (a muted seafoam green) but so easy to wear and super comfortable. This has an adjustable string across the neckline so you can make it as ‘off-the-shoulder’ as you like. Throw this over a suit or dress it up with wedges for an evening out!

(^I always keep my eye out for turquoise pieces when shopping because they add the perfect pop of color and can pair nicely with any color you are wearing!)

I’m not one to wear too many hair accessories (mostly because it’s too much effort!) but I love using a scarf as a headband. Not only does it add some color or print to your outfit, but it’s also practical and helpful to keep your hair back. It’s been super windy here most of the week and wearing a hat is not happening…but you can grab your favorite silk scarf, roll/fold it, and simply tie it at the base of your head. Easy!

(^okay guys, this suit is only $12!! Seriously the best value I’ve found in a long, long time. Though this suit may not last you years and years, it’s quality is very good, comes with built in pads, and is super cute! By far one of the pieces I’ve received the most compliments on…check it out here!)

So far this trip, we’ve spent some quality time at the beach, poolside, walking around Ka’anapali, and bbqing the best local fish. There is an incredible fish market hidden right off the highway in a strip mall called ‘The Fish Market‘; we bought mahimahi, butterfish, ahi, and hamachi and grilled them up with some local Hawaii salts and herbs, served with rice and salad…ah so good!! Cheers,

Hannah

Hey! Great pictures and cute outfit! I was wondering what size you got in the swimsuit and if it fits true to size?

It definitely runs small so get a size up; I’m usually a small and got a medium in this suit.
